CowBos is a complete supplement that provides protein, energy, and trace minerals in optimal proportions for maximum performance. Supplementation with CowBos increases microbial yield, microbial efficiency & nutrient utilization.

CowBos Sweet and Bitter are blended together to achieve optimum nutrient synchrony and provide dietary protein and energy sources to ruminal microorganisms simultaneously in proportions needed by the ruminal population. The protein supplementation is two-fold, as CowBos provides dietary protein as well as higher levels of microbial protein, due to the increase in microbial population.

CowBos provides supplemental energy without decreasing forage utilization. CowBos provides Nitrogen and readily available carbohydrates to the rumen microbes in the proper proportions and facilitates an optimal rumen environment. CowBos is molasses based. Both cane and beet molasses are sources of readily available carbohydrates (simple sugars), which are important for microbial protein production.

CowBos Sweet

CowBos Sweet is an extremely palatable product that is blended with CowBos Bitter to encourage consumption. CowBos Sweet provides 13% Crude Protein and 1% Phosphorous, as well as a complete vitamin and trace mineral package that contains organic trace minerals. CowBos Sweet is made up of mostly cane molasses, and will provide 45% TSI. At many stages in a cow’s life, energy is the most limiting nutrient, and CowBos Sweet is formulated to help bring energy back to optimum levels. CowBos blends will contain higher portions of CowBos Sweet in times of green grass, which also corresponds to times when protein and phosphorous requirements are lower.

CowBos Bitter

CowBos Bitter is a less palatable product that is blended with CowBos Sweet to control consumption. CowBos Bitter provides 25% Crude Protein and 2% Phosphorous, as well as a complete vitamin and trace mineral package that contains organic trace minerals. CowBos Bitter is formulated to provide Nitrogen, which is critical for microbial protein synthesis. During the winter months when forage nutrient content is at its lowest, CowBos blends will contain higher portions of CowBos Bitter, resulting in higher crude protein and phosphorous supplementation levels.

CowBos Starter

During weaning and receving, calves are challenged with many different stress factors including environmental, nutritional, and physiological.
